Phone tapping: Ashok Chaturvedi's name surfaces Saturday, January 14 2006 11:47 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
As Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh appeared before the Delhi Police in connection with the phone tapping case, the name of Ashok Chaturvedi, Chairman of Flex Industries is also said to have surfaced during the course of investigation.
As Singh claimed that that one Rahul informed him that intelligence agencies had 'outsourced' his phone tapping job to private detectives, police believe that it was Chaturvedi who first tipped the Samajwadi Party leader about his phone being under surveillance.
Amar Singh told Special Cell sleuths of the Delhi Police that one Rahul had informed him that his phones were being tapped by the intelligence agencies as part of a plan to 'finish him.'
Chaturvedi was arrested by the CBI in connection with a case of bribing a Central Excise Commissioner.
Amar Singh had also been questioned by the CBI for his alleged financial links with the Flex Industries some years back.
