Rajnath Singh tells cadre to work as a united force Sunday, January 15 2006 16:54 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh today (Jan 15,2006) asked the party cadre to work as a united force, telling them that the party has never seen a vertical split since its formation.
"If one adds up the efforts of each worker working individually, the result is good, but if everyone works unitedly towards a common goal, the result is many times more
grand," Singh said in his address to the party's youth wing.
Singh urged them to work with dignity and within the limits and ideology espoused by the party.
His call for 'cohesion' came a day after expelled part leader Uma Bharti's assertions that she was 'the real BJP' and that Rajnath Singh should launch a new political outfit as the
party has discarded all its ideological moorings.
Claiming that the party's ideology of 'integral humanism' touched the chord of the masses 'instantly', he said that other ideologies such as Communism 'have not stood the test of time'.
Noting that other key players in the country's polity like the Congress and Communist Party had split vertically several times, Singh, who was appointed as the BJP president
recently, said, "BJP has not seen a vertical split since its formation."
Acknowledging that Congress was the biggest party in independent India, he claimed no other party, except the BJP, had succeeded in raising its mark above its political rival.
"BJP is the only party that is different than others," he said, adding that there was a need to add more shine to it.
