Monday, January 16 2006 13:15 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Srinagar: In a major breakthrough in the Delhi blasts case, security forces today (Jan 16,2006) shot dead a top Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, allegedly involved in the October 29 explosions, in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.

The militant's co-conspirator in the incident is believed to be holed up at the encounter site, Inspector General of Police K Rajendra Kumar said.

"So far, one Lashkar commander, Abdullah Bhai alias Abu Huzeifa, has been killed in an operation in Khour area while another, Abu Zar, is holed up," Kumar said.

The IGP said the two militants had masterminded the Delhi blasts and were top commanders of Lashkar operating in north Kashmir.
