Few Congress leaders out to sabotage Mahajote: BJP Tuesday, January 17 2006 18:14 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Siliguri:
A few West Bengal Congress leaders were out to sabotage the anti-CPI(M) 'grand alliance' to oust the Left Front from power in the ensuing assembly elections, state BJP General Secretary Rahul Sinha said today (Jan 17, 2006).
"There was nothing new in projecting Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee as the opposition Chief Ministerial candidate," Sinha said, "but the reality was that a few front ranking Congress leaders, including state Congress President Pranab Mukherjee, were more serious in protecting the Left's interest than to respond to the aspirations of the people of the state for a change."
"A few state Congress leaders are out to sabotage the grand alliance," he told a press conference.
Lauding veteran Congress leader A B A Ghani Khan Choudhury for favouring the 'grand alliance' comprising the Trinamool Congress, Congress and BJP, Sinha said that he could read the writing on wall.
The BJP was ready and had geared up its rank and file to oust the Left Front from power in the forthcoming assembly election and project the TC chief as the Chief Minister, Sinha said.
