Bihar: Another businessman kidnapped in Sasaram
Wednesday, January 18 2006 16:49 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Sasaram: While a garment shop owner Prashant Jain was freed by his kidnappers in the state capital yesterday (Jan 17, 2006), another businessman was allegedly abducted from Bihar' Sasaram town, police said today (Jan 18, 2006).

Badri Singh, a dealer of dettol and soaps, went missing when he had gone to the market to buy medicine on Sunday. The trader did not return home, his family members complained to the police here about his going missing, police said.

Police later registered a case of kidnapping on the complaint of his family members as the businessman remained traceless for the fourth consecutive day yesterday, police said.

The case was under investigation. Efforts were being made to recover the businessman, police said.

A spate of kidnappings in Bihar has cast shadow over Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's promise to make Bihar crime-free within three months. A schoolboy Nirmalendu Prakash Diwakar, son of former director of the state animal husbandry department Dr O P Diwakar, is also traceless for the second day today after he was kidnapped by gunmen while he was going to his school in Patna yesterday.
