Patna: Schoolboy Nirmalendu remains traceless
Wednesday, January 18 2006 12:59 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Patna: Kidnapped class IX student of the Don Bosco Public School Nirmalendu Prakash Diwakar remained traceless for the second day today (Jan 18,2006), although raids continued at many places of the Patna district for his safe recovery.

Senior police superintendent Kundan Krishnan told sources that efforts were on to rescue Nirmalendu from the clutches of kidnappers.

Fifteen-year-old Nirmalendu, son of a former director ofthe Bihar Animal Husbandry Department and fodder scam accused Dr O P Diwakar, was kidnapped from Harnichak here when he was going to his school in his car yesterday (Jan 17,2006).

The kidnapping of Nirmalendu alias Bunty occurred less than a fortnight after the abduction of a businessman Prashant Jain in the state capital, sending a shockwave across the state.

Prashant Jain, a garment shop owner, was freed by his kidnappers on the Mahatma Gandhi setu, near here, yesterday under heavy police pressure, the police claimed.

All entry and exit points of the state capital have been sealed and intensive combing operations launched to recover the boy after alerting police stations.

Meanwhile, the principal, teachers and students of the Don Bosco Public School held a prayer meeting on the school premises and prayed for early recovery of Nirmalendu.
