K'taka: JD-S postpones January 23 party convention

Bangalore: Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) has postponed the convention of party workers, and candidates of the recent Zilla and taluk Panchayat elections in the State, slated for January 23.

Party General Secretary Y S V Datta said in a statement here that a fresh date would be announced soon.

The postponement comes in the wake of a section of JD-S MLAs led by H D Kumaraswamy, son of the party's National President H D Deve Gowda, announcing their decision to form a coalition Government with the BJP.
