Patna:
Police conducted raids in the city and adjoining districts to trace kidnapped schoolboy Nirmalendu Prakash Diwakar and questioned a few suspects in this connection, Senior Superintendent of Police Kundan Krishnan said today (Jan 20,2006).
.
"We have interrogated a few people in this connection and the process is on," he said as the student of the Don Bosco Public School here remained untraced for the fourth day.
He said mere identification of gangs involved in the kidnapping would not solve the case.
"We are yet to achieve a breakthrough in the case as the kidnappers are yet to be identified," said a senior police official, not wishing to be named.
Meanwhile, students and staff of the school held a mass prayer in the campus for early recovery of Nirmalendu, a class IX student.
'Oxygen', an NGO has also appealed to the people to observe a 'public fast' on April 25 against the 'rising incidents' of kidnapping of children in Bihar.
Nirmalendu, son of a former Joint Director of the state animal husbandry department and accused in the multi-crore fodder scam case O P Diwakar, was kidnapped on way to school in a car on Tuesday.
