Chennai: An earthquake of moderate intensity reading 5.9 on the Richter scale was felt at 9.30 AM today (Jan 21,2006) in the West coast of North Andaman region, according to the meteorological department here.

Its epicentre lay at latitude 13.1 degrees North and longitude 92.6 degrees East, the department said in a press release.

No damages have been reported so far.
