Bangalore:
Banking on party seniors to save his tottering coalition Government, an embattled Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh today (Jan 21,2006) ruled out J and K model of power sharing with Janata Dal (JD) Secular (S) to resolve the crisis.
He said the Congress High Command has stepped in to defuse the situation.
"I have not suggested any options. The question of adopting J and K model (of rotating chief ministership) does not arise now. It is left to the Congress High Command to
decide," he told reporters in reply to a question whether he has any options to save the situation.
The Chief Minister said he still trusted former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, who he felt was honest in his approach opposing any tie up with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"My experience tells me that it is not a drama. Gowda whole-heartedly supporting my Government," he said rubbishing reports that Gowda was playing a drama by supporting the Government and also his son H D Kumaraswamy's plans to form a Government with BJP support.
On the party leadership's intervention, the Chief Minister said that the Congress leadership was very serious about the political developments in Karnataka and "I have been holding talks with the people concerned (JD-S leaders)".
