Hyderabad: Generation next in the Congress party started the chorus for bringing in Rahul Gandhi to the center stage of the party affairs by strongly advocating his induction at the decision making level.

The young brigade spoke in unison about their views on the potential leader they see in Rahul and this was advocated by some senior leaders ahead of start of the Plenary session.

Fresh young faces were vociferous and had a diction of clarity while advocating a bigger role for the scion of Gandhi family in the party functioning.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot, Naveen Jindal, Dipesh Singh, Milind Deora, Sandeep Dixt, Dipesh Singh and Jitin Prasad spoke in no unclear terms about the need to give the young Gandhi a more responsible position in the party.

The young brigade joined for dinner last night hosted by first time MP from Nizamabad Madhu Yazki.

With elections to five states due this year, the need for infusing young blood into the party fold has gained currency and it was a virtual high voltage demand to see Rahul Gandhi in one of the decision making bodies of the party if the banners, slogans and cut-outs at the venue and roads leading to the venue are of any indication.

"He is a young and charismatic leader and nation loves to lap him up and his presence will help party to gain the lost ground in the Hindi belt," contend the young brigade who were the most sought after delegates for the media.

The overwhelming support to Rahul could be gauged by the response his entrance evoked at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting while state Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president K Kesava Rao was welcoming the gathering.
