'JDS-BJP Govt will assume office on January 28'
Monday, January 23 2006 13:48 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: Asserting that the Congress'gameplan to save its Government with the intervention of Sonia Gandhi would not succeed, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader B S Yediyurappa today expressed optimism that the new 'Janata Dal (JD) Secular (S)-BJP Government'will assume office on January 28.

"Congress President Sonia Gandhi's moves to save the Congress led coalition government would be frustrated as JDS and BJP are firm on forming a new Government", told sources here.

"Sonia Gandhi has no iota of hope in saving the Government", he claimed.

He alleged that Congress was trying to create confusion in the minds of people "to win the heart" of JDS and was indulging in horse trading.

"We (BJP and JDS) have loved each other and decided to marry. We hope elders of the family (Devegowda) will come and bless us on the wedding day", Yediyurappa, whom the party has projected as a deputy chief minister in the new dispensation said.

He demanded that Chief Minister N Dharam Singh quit without bringing embarrassment to the Governor T N Chaturvedi 'as he is heading a minority Government'.

Complimenting Kumaraswamy for deciding to withdraw support to Congress-led government and join hands with BJP, Yediyurappa asserted, "The new government will come to office certainly".

He said even Gowda has declared that his son has not committed any mistake and blamed the Congress for the present political turmoil and asked, 'what does his indicate'.

Yediyurappa defending his party decision to go with JDS said the tie up between the two parties to form the Government in 2004 after Congress was routed in the assembly elections was on cards.

But due to certain compulsion JDS chose to align with Congress, he said.

Yediyurappa said the Congress though was rejected bypeople in the last elections came to power because of Devegowda courtesy.

The JDS-BJP alliance will going to give a new turn to the politics at the national level, he claimed.

"We are preparing to oust Congress from south",Yediyurappa said.
