BJP slams Cong 'duplicity, hypocrisy, sycophancy'
Tuesday, January 24 2006 09:36 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Launching a broadside against Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yesterday (Jan 23, 2006) said the AICC Plenary session in Hyderabad has brought to the fore the 'duplicity, hypocrisy and sycophancy' in the ruling party to the fore.

"The Hyderabad session has exposed that the party is devoid of any ideology, ideals, ideas and any new programme. The ruling party, which is expected to give new thrust and programme in such a session, has failed to deliver. The session has brought to the fore duplicity, hypocrisy and sycophancy in Congress," party spokesman Prakash Javadekar told reporters here.

Charging the Sonia Gandhi-led party with 'hypocrisy', he said "it wants to fight Left parties vigorously but it is not ready to fight them along with anti-Leftist forces in West Bengal".

"The whole basis of Congress-led UPA coalition is anti-BJPism which is a negative notion and is not sustainable for stable politics," he said.

"The worst and probably the only outcome of this plenary session is sycophancy. The shameful sycophancy clamouring for ascendance of Rahul Gandhi "reminds the sycophancy in the days of Emergency during 1975-77. This is the true colour of the Congress, which has nothing but dynasty as its only weapon for survival", Javadekar said.

The BJP spokesman said while the slogan of the session was 'Ateet ki neev, Bhavishya ka nirman' (foundation of past and building of future), "it has turned out to be 'Quattrocchi ka neev, Rahul ka nirman' (foundation of Quattrocchi and building of Rahul Gandhi)".
