M'htra: Cong nominee wins Sangli Lok Sabha bypoll

Mumbai: Congress nominee Prateek Patil today (Jan 24, 2006) won the Sangli Lok Sabha seat, defeating his nearest rival and Congress rebel Dinkar Patil by over 80,425 votes in the recently held bypoll. Prateek, son of Prakash Patil, whose death last year had necessitated the bypoll, secured 25,2716 votes.

Independent Patil polled 17,2285 votes followed by Deepak Shinde Mhaisalkar of BJP.
