'Question of Dharam's Govt resigning does not arise' Wednesday, January 25 2006 16:41 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
The question of the Dharam Singh Government resigning does not arise as the Congress is hopeful that the present political crisis in Karnataka will blow over, the State's Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil said today (Jan 25,2006).
Noting that JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda had met All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Sonia Gandhi at New Delhi, Patil told reporters after a meeting with Singh that "The way things are moving in Delhi we are hopeful that the present crisis which the State is facing will blow over at the earliest".
Asked if there is no possibility of the coalition Government resigning, he said, "That question, I am sure, will not arise".
According to him, Janata Dal (JD) Secular (S) MLAs are slated to meet Devegowda,
an interaction in which all their 'anxiety' and 'crisis' in the State will 'go away'.
Patil said reports in a section of the press that "Kumaraswamy does not listen to anybody" is not correct. He listens to his elders. I am sure wisdom will dawn on him and ultimately the secular Government will sail through".
