N Dharam Singh, who stepped down as Karnataka Chief Minister today (Jan 28,2006) capping a ten-day political crisis, today chose not to blame anybody for the Government's fall and particularly refrained from attacking Janata Dal(JD) Secular ( (S) supremo H DDevegowda.
"I am not going to blame anybody", a relaxed Singh told a press conference where he announced that he had tendered his resignation.
Asked specifically if he felt let down and betrayed by Devegowda, Singh said: "No (he has not let me down). No body has betrayed me".
Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Singh said he would expose that
party's 'opportunistic politics'.
Saying he neither has regrets nor was he downcast his resignation, he said, "Power comes and power goes. I am in politics in 40 years. I have faced so many ups
and downs in my life".
Flaying the Speaker's action in recognising H D Kumaraswamy as the JDSLP leader in the Assembly yesterday and his decision to adjourn the House sine die, he said the
presiding officer's move was against 'Parliamentary democracy'.
Singh also said he wanted to resign on January 18 itself when JDS MLAs led by Kumaraswamy decided to form an alternative Government but decided to go in for 'collective opinion' of the party high command.
