Cash-for-query case: Government, EC seek notices

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (Feb 2,2006) issued notices to the Center, the Election Commission and the Lok Sabha Secretariat on a petition seeking transfer of all cases challenging the expulsion of 11 MPs in connection with the cash-for-query scam.

A Division Bench of Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal and Justice C K Thakker asked the respondents to file their replies to the petition filed by the Center by Febraury 13.

Attorney-General Milan Banerjee had mentioned the transfer petition before the Bench and requested that the nine petitions, pending in the Delhi High Court in this regard, be heard by it.
