7-member board inspects development at border area Saturday, February 4 2006 15:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

A seven-member parliamentary standing committee on home affairs led by its chairperson Sushma Swaraj today (Feb 4,2006) inspected development work at the border town of Moreh I Manipur's Chandel district.
The committee members, who arrived from Nagaland by a helicopter, discussed development work and border trade between India and Myanmar through this town with state ministers and officials, official sources said.
The committee members later went to the Manipur University complex here and are scheduled to discussi university officials on how to develop it. Manipur University was converted into a central university some months ago.
The members included among others C K Chandrapan, Biren Singh Engti, Tabri Gao, Sitaram Yechury, Brajakishore Tripathi and Bajuban Ranjan. They were accompanied by some senior
officials of the union home ministry, the sources said.
They would leave here tomorrow for other northeastern states.
