Tiruchirappalli: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, accompanied by Union Ministers Mani Shankar Aiyar, Sibu Soren and G K Vasan arrived here today(Feb 4,2006) on a day's trip to Tamil Nadu.

He was received at the airport by union minister A Raja and state minister for sports and youth welfare Inba Tamizhan.

The District Collector K.Nanda Kishore and IG (Central zone) Tamilselvan were also present.

Later the Prime Minister left for Neyveli, where he will participate in the golden Jubilee celebrations of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, lay the foundation stone for extension work on the second lignite mine and the Second Thermal Power station, with two units of 250 MW capacity.
