Left demands Parliament debate on Iran issue
Sunday, February 5 2006 14:07 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Terming India's vote on the Iran nuclear issue at the IAEA meeting as not in conformity with the pursuit of an independent foreign policy, Left parties today (Feb 5 2006) demanded a full debate on it in the coming session of Parliament.

India should not be a party to any referral to the UN Security Council and should not take such a stand at the meeting on March 6, CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat said here after a meeting of the Left parties.
