Govt to create tribunal for nationality disputes

New Delhi: The Government today (Feb 10,2006) decided to set up a tribunal under the Foreigners Act to ensure a person is given a fair hearing before he or she is declared a foreigner.

The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs took a decision to this effect in the wake of the scrapping of the IMDT Act by the Supreme Court.

The Act was for detection of foreigners in Assam.
