Chennai: Congress President Sonia Gandhi will kick off the party's electioneering for the assembly polls next month, TNCC President and Union Minister G K Vasan said today (Feb 12,2006).

He told reporters here that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, union ministers and Chief Ministers of Congress ruled states would also involve themselves in the electioneering.

Vasan said the party would face the polls in the company of the DMK-led Demoratic Progressive Allinace.

He said the spate of concessions announced by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was with an eye on the polls, as 'election fever' had gripped her.
