PMK not to form part of coalition Govts in TN Monday, February 13 2006 13:57 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Chennai:
PMK, a constituent of the UPA, today(Feb 13, 2006) said it would not form part of coalition goverments in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry as 'single party' rule is possible in both the states after assembly polls.
"People will decisively vote in favour of the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance in both the states and a single party government is possible," PMK founder S Ramdoss told reporters here.
Alleging that the intelligence wing of the Tamil Nadu police was 'working overtime" to split the DPA, he said the police officials were violating the code of conduct for service personnel. However, their efforts to split the DPA
would not succeed, he said.
He said he was taking efforts to bring in the Dalit Panthers of India into the fold of DPA. Even yesterday, he had spoken about this to the DMK leaders. "In the next few days, I hope that the DPI will be inducted into the DPA," he said.
"The seat sharing talks between various constituents of the DPA would be smooth. The alliance's leader and DMKPresident M Karunanidhi would take care of the interests of all the constituents," he said.
On the reports that MDMK might cross over to the AIADMK front, he said "these are all rumours floated by the police".
