New Delhi: Threatening a 'stormy' Budget Session of Parliament, Opposition BJP today (Feb 15 2006) did not rule out bringing a no-confidence motion against the UPA Government and said it would insist on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation on the Quattrocchi and Bihar Assembly dissolution issues.

"We have not ruled it out. When the time comes, the NDA will decide on what and when to do it", BJP leader V K Malhotra told sources after a luncheon meeting hosted by Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee for leaders of all political parties in Parliament. He was responding to a question on the Samajwadi Party's threat to bring a no-confidence motion.

"You can't have a no-confidence motion with 30 or 5 people. The Left, which has been outwardly opposing the Government on various issues, should support it instead of betraying the people", he said.

Samajwadi Party had earlier threatened to bring a no-confidence motion against the Government on the Iran nuclear issue and the TDP had supported it.

The BJP had yesterday endorsed the Government's vote against Iran at the IAEA meeting while the Left parties have also ruled out supporting any no-trust vote.

Malhotra said the Opposition NDA would "aggressively and effectively" raise issues, including the headcount of Muslims in the Army, price rise, FDI in retail, wheat imports, farmers' suicide and petroleum price hike.

"We will demand the Prime Minister's resignation on the Quattrocchi issue and the Supreme Court verdict terming the Bihar Assembly dissolution as unconstitutional", he said, adding the party has given notices on 80 issues under various rules.
