Kalam to inaugurate Indo-US nanotechnology conclave

New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam would inaugurate a two day Indo-US Nanotechnology conclave on February 22-23.

Minister for Science and Technology and US Ambassador David Mulford would also address the conclave along with other eminent scientists and academicians from the two countries, a CII release said here today.

Nanotechnology deals with handling molecules with advanced tools to produce products of desired functionality. The technology is at an advanced satge but its applicability for commercial production is yet to be tested.

Realising the poetntial of the technology, India has already initiated several research and commercialisation activities related to nanotechnology.

The conclave would aim to forge greater cooperation between India and the US to develop and promote nanotechnology.
