Azad orders magisterial probe of Kupwara killing Thursday, February 23 2006 12:24 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Jammu and Kashmir Government today (Feb 23,2006) ordered a magisterial inquiry into the killing of four persons in reported cross firing between militants and security forces in Kupwara district of the state.
Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who expressed displeasure and anguish over the killing of four persons, including two teenaged boys yesterday (Feb 22,2006) ordered the magisterial probe into it, an official spokesman said here.
The inquiry would look into the circumstances which led to the killing of the four persons and ascertain the facts, he said.
The Chief Minister also directed Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Basharat Ahmad Dhar and Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range to visit to the spot.
Azad has also conveyed deep sympathies with the families of the victims.
Four persons, including two teenaged boys, were killed in the incident in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir triggering protests by local people.
