Amar issue to Ethics Committee of Parliament: Cong Friday, February 24 2006 20:27 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Congress today (Feb 24 2006) suggested that the audio CDs concerning alleged telephone conversations of Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh with a host of persons could be dealt with by the Ethics Committee of Parliament.
Without taking the name of either the SP or Singh, Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said the Congress believed that many of the issues in the CDs could be matters of public concern and therefore fall under public domain and hence call for complete disclosure.
Singhvi made it clear that neither the government nor the Congress party had any hand in the telephone tapping of Singh which led to the preparation of the audio CDs.
His comment came a day after a leading channel stated that it had audio CDs of Singh's alleged conversations with a host of persons, including one with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav in which the 'removal' of a High Court judge figures.
