Friday, February 24 2006 18:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Jalandhar: Asserting that a better educated India would be a leader in the future, NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul today(Feb 24,2006) urged the youth to bear responsibility to move in that direction.

"A better educated India will be a leader in tomorrow's world and you must all bear some of that responsibility," the Chairman of the UK-based Caparo Group said in his address at the third convocation ceremony of the B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology here.

He said the value of education has been proving to be a great asset in India's endeavours, especially in the IT industry.

"We need to appreciate that we are citizens of our motherland and citizens of the world too," he said.

Noting that the reputation of Indian researchers in areas of management, science and various other fields has been outstanding, Paul said "Young Indians have perhaps better role models and examples than many other nationalities."

"I deeply believe that each one of you today has a role in shaping India's place in the change that is now sweeping the world," he said.
