Moderate intensity quake hits Arunachal Pradesh

Shillong: An earthquake of moderate intensity shook the India-Bhutan border region in Arunachal Pradesh early this (Feb 24,20006) morning, the Meteorological Department said here.

The quake, which occurred at 1.35 am, measured 5.7 on the Richter scale.

It was epicentred at 27.2 degree north latitude and 92.0 degree east longitude, the MeT department said.

The temblor was also felt in neighbouring states of Assam and Meghalaya. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
