Infiltration bids foiled, 22 Bangla nationals held

Jammu: Foiling two separate bids of infiltration along the Indo-Pak border, security forces today(Feb 26,2006) arrested 22 Bangladeshi nationals in Akhnoor and Ramgarh belts in Jammu district, official sources said here.

Troops observed some movement near the Indo-Pak border in Garkhal area of Akhnoor belt of Jammu district last night and challenged a group of Bangladeshis.

Eighteen Bangladeshis were arrested, they said adding that they included two children and a woman.

Troops also arrested four more Bangladeshis in Ramgarh area of Samba sector in Jammu early today when they were trying to infiltrate to Pakistan, they said. All Bangladeshis were handed over to police for further action, they said.
