An amount of over Rs.three crore has been disbursed among quake-hit families of Srinagar district.
District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Asgar Samoon said in all 2,364 cases have been settled and an amount of Rs. 3.27 crore disbursed to them.
Of this, 1084 cases were provided with Rs. 1.84 crore, Rs. one crore to 831 cases and Rs. 10 Lakh to 103 cases of Srinagar, Ganderbal and Kangan tehsils respectively, he said.
He said 4,492 more cases of these tehsils have been referred to concerned agency for re-verification.
Meanwhile, an official spokesman said the social welfare department has disbursed an amount of Rs.10.78 crore as financial assistance to 27, 997 physically challenged persons in Kashmir valley so far during 2005-06.
In addition, 70, 220 old aged and widows have been provided an assistance of Rs 16.85 Crore, he said, adding Rs. 2.83 rore has been given to 2830 such widows who have no bread earner.
An amount of Rs. 5.97 crore has been given to 24, 278 persons under old age pension scheme, the spokesman said.
