Bomb blast outside US Consulate in Karachi, 5 hurt

Karachi: Bomb explosion outside US consulate in the Pakistan city of Karachi injures five, police say.

One bomb exploded outside the consulate, setting 10 cars on fire, police official Javed Akbar said.

He said five people were injured, but could not say whether they were injured by the blast or the fires. He also said he did not know whether the five were attached to the consulate.

Another bomb exploded about the same time in a parking lot of a hotel meters (yards) away, Akbar said. Agencies
