About 200 naxalites yesterday(Mar 3,2006) rnight attacked a police outpost and a CISF camp in Bokaro district, killing three security personnel and injuring as many, a senior police official said here.
The ultras attacked the Bokaro-Jharia police outpost bordering Dhanbad district and fired indiscriminately killing two policemen, Bokaro Superintendent of Police Manvendra Singh told reporters. In the exchange of fire between the two sides, Officer-in-Charge of the outpost D N Tiwari and another policeman were injured, he said.
The naxalites, including 20 women, then proceeded to a Central Industrial Security Force camp. The group triggered a dynamite blast there, killing a CISF jawan and injuring another, Singh said.
The ultras also looted three rifles and a pistol from the police outpost, he said. The district has been virtually sealed and security forces have launched a drive to nab the ultras, he added.
