CPI demands ouster of Modi Govt on moral grounds
Saturday, March 4 2006 16:37 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The CPI today (Mar 04 2006) demanded the ouster of Narendra Modi government in Gujarat on moral grounds following the U C Banerjee Commission's findings that the Godhra train fire was accidental and not deliberate.

"After this latest finding, Modi Government has no moral right to remain in office. Its continuation will be a national shame," the CPI Central Secretariat said in a statement here.

It said the Banerjee panel's final report "completely refutes the RSS-BJP-Modi government propoganda that the Godhra fire was pre-planned attack by external and local elements against the kar sevaks.

"This conspiracy theory was used to undertake genocide against Muslims in Gujarat," the party said.
