MDMK appoints committee to hold talks with AIADMK Sunday, March 5 2006 14:29 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The MDMK, which forged an alliance with the ruling AIADMK for the May 8 Assembly polls, today (Mar 05 2006) appointed a four-member committee to hold talks with the latter to identify constituencies.
Party's President chairman and MP, L Ganesan, would be the head of the committee. The other members are party's treasurer, M Kannappan, Deputy General Secretary, 'Ginjee' N Ramachandran, MP, and political advisory committee secretary, 'Tiruppur' S Duraisamy, MDMK General Secretary, Vaiko, said in a statement here today.
Walking out of the DMK-led DPA, the MDMK yesterday inked a deal with the AIADMK under which it had been allotted a total of 35 seats. There are 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
The DMK was ready to offer MDMK only 22 seats as against its minimum demand of 25.
