The district commander of pro-Pakistani militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has surrendered.
Mohammad Taj alias Taj Pahalwan, who carried a reward of Rs two lakh on his head, was persuaded to lay down arms before troops in Surankote belt of Poonch district, official sources said.
He also surrendered an AK rifle, three magazines, 90 rounds, a hand grenade, wireless set binoculars, a letter-pad and diary, they said.
With his surrender, the Hizbul has received a jolt in Poonch sector, where he had been operating for past five years.
