Missionary society registration to be protected: FB
Wednesday, March 8 2006 20:10 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kota (Rajasthan): Describing it as a violation of human rights, the Rajasthan unit of Forward Bloc has condemned the Social Welfare department's order cancelling the registration of some units of Emmanuel Mission Society.

In a memorandum to the state government yesterday, FB secretary Hira Chand Jain demanded that since the order for cancellation of registration of five organisations belonging to the society was ultra versus the constitution, no action should be taken on it.

He said there was no provision in the Rajasthan Societies Act of 1958 for cancellation of registration and no officer can order such a cancellation.

Winding up of any registered society could be done only in accordance with section 13 of the Act, he said.
