Mayawati demands UP Govt dismissal, condems blast

Varanasi: Condemning the terror attacks in the temple city, BSP supremo Mayawati today (Mar 08 2006) demanded dismissal of the Mulayam Singh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh for its "failure" in maintaining law and order in the state.

Describing the terror attacks as "acts of terrorism", Mayawati told sources at Cantonment Railway station, the site of one of blasts, "it was a clear case of lapse of law and order machinery for which the state government should be held responsible and be dismissed forthwith."

"The SP-led government did not take any lessons from the terror attacks in Ayodhya last year and took no measures for strenghthening security at public places," she alleged.
