Varanasi blasts: Uneasy calm prevails in the areas Wednesday, March 8 2006 10:27 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Varanasi:
Uneasy calm prevailed in the district and adjoining areas as the residents resumed their normal routine this morning about 12 hours after the twin blasts in this temple town yesterday(Mar 7,2006)night.
Groups of people were seen engaged in discussions near tea stalls and other public places dwelling on the impact of the blasts.
The blasts, first of its kind in the ancient city, appeared to have dented the confidence of traders and shopkeepers as most of them shut their shops and other business establishments in the wake of the bandh call given by some political parties.
