AUDF complains EC on alleged attack on party men
Thursday, March 9 2006 19:20 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Guwahati: The Assam United Democratic Front (AUDF) today (Mar 09 2006) filed a complaint with the Election Commission alleging that Congress activists had attacked its supporters at a rally addressed by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in Goalpara district.

At least three AUDF supporters were injured when Congress workers went berserk at the rally, sources in the front alleged.

The matter was reported to the EC with a request that it be treated as a violation of the model code of conduct and to ensure that such attacks are not repeated.

The Congress and the police have, however, denied any knowledge of the incident.
