Congress Government has failed on all fronts: INLD
Thursday, March 9 2006 17:45 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Chandigarh: The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) today (Mar 09 2006) charged the ruling Congress with having failed on all fronts, including law& order and power, during its year long rule in Haryana.

Addressing a joint press conference here, INLD Secretary General Ajay Chautala and Haryana unit President Ashok Arora said the Bhupinder Singh Hooda led government is only making announcements but no work is being done on the ground. The schemes, which were operating during Chautala regime have only been renamed, they said.

They said the law and order situation had worsened to such an extent that the girl students were being allegedly raped by their teachers in the schools even though the Hooda government had declared year 2006 as the year of girl child.

They said the recent Nav Nirman Rally of Congress at Hissar was also not a party show as the state unit chief Bhajan Lal had not attended it. "It was basically a Bhupinder Singh Hooda show to impress Sonia Gandhi," the two alleged.

Chautala said the condition of the farmers has also worsened during the Congress regime. The farmers have failed to get any relief for the loss of their crop during the recent cold spell, he said adding the power situation in rural and urban areas was very bad with the supply having been reduced to a few hours.

He said there was no need to construct the 108 KM Canal for south Haryana from the Bhakra Mainline Canal in Jind district as the existing network of canals and channels was more than enought for distributing the availabe river water.
