Congress to contest 48 seats in TN assembly polls

Chennai: Congress has been allotted 48 seats as part of the DMK-led six party DPA alliance for the Tamil Nadu assembly polls on May 8.

An agreement to this effect was signed between TNCC President M Krishnasamy and DMK President M Karunanidhi today(Mar 9,2006).

The Congress and the then TMC had been allotted 45 seats by the AIADMK in the 2001 assembly polls.

In the last Lok Sabha elections, Congress won all 10 of the seats it contested.
