JK Government releases money for eight tehsils Friday, March 10 2006 18:44 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Jammu and Kashmir Government has released Rs 32.09 crore for the reconstruction and renovation of quake-affected houses and other buildings in eight tehsils of Baramulla district, an official spokesman said here today(Mar 10,2006).
The allocation has been made following the submission of assessment report by agencies constitued for this purpose.
Of the total amount, Rs 10 crore each have been releasedfor Baramulla and Sopore tehsils, Rs four crore for Rafiabad,Rs three crore for Pattan, Rs two crore each for Tangmarg and Bandipora teheils, Rs one crore for Sonawari and Rs 9.19 lakh
for Gurez tehsils, the spokesman said.
Relief amount for Uri tehsil would be released after receiving fresh assement report from the concerned agencies which was expected soon, he said.
The affected people have been asked to contact their respective tehsildars for receiving relief cheques from tomorrow, he said adding the whole process of distribution of cheques among the affected people would be completed by March
15.
The 7.4 magnitude earthquake had struck the state on October eight last year.
