Salman's Khan sentence in chinkara case stayed

Jaipur: Bollywood actor Salman Khan today(Mar 10,2006) got a reprieve with a sessions court in Jodhpur staying the one-year imprisonment awarded to him by a chief judicial magistrate in a 1998 'chinkara' poaching case.

District and Sessions Judge Yashpal Choudhary admitted an appeal filed on the actor's behalf against Chief Judicial Magistrate B K Jain's verdict on February 17 and ordered suspension of the one-year sentence and fine of Rs 5,000 imposed on Salman till its ruling.
