Lok Sabha passes Demands for Grants for Railways

New Delhi: Lok Sabha today(Mar 11,2006) approved the Railway Budget for 2006-07 with the passage of Demands for Grants for Railways without discussion.

Relevant appropriation bills for Demand for Grants for Railway expenditure for 2006-07 were also passed by voice vote after negating all the cut motions moved by various members.

The Lok Sabha had last week passed the Vote-on-Account, the first of the 2-stage passage of the Railway Budget.

In view of rescheduling of the current session, the House passed the Demands for Grants for Railways after adopting a motion for suspension of rules to enable its passage without discussion and voting.
