BJP seeks to equate PM's Government with Rabri
Sunday, March 12 2006 11:06 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: After terming him as the 'weakest ever Prime Minister', the Opposition BJP has mounted a fresh offensive on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking to equate his Government with that of the erstwhile RJD regime in Bihar under Rabri Devi.

"The situation as it stands today is worse than that when Rabri donned the crown of Chief Ministership. The person occupying the chair is powerless to do anything and the person who is without the chair calls the shots and gets things done with just a nod of her head or a frown on her face," said an editorial in the latest issue of party mouthpiece 'BJP Today', in an apparent reference to Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The editorial titled 'Manmohan on Rabri Way?', states, "Running a Government seems to have become meaningless requiring no intelligence and experience. If Manmohan Singh is running a Government for the last 20 months, there is nothing to feel surprised or proud of. Rabri Devi too did run a Government and that too for two consecutive terms."

Making a scathing attack on the Left parties, it said, "They continue to thrash Congress and at the same time don't allow it to cry too. It is a great paradox that the one who is calling the shots from outside the Government is getting stronger and the one who runs it is getting weaker day by day".
