Ahead of the high-level Sino-India discussions at Kumarakom, National Security Adviser M K Narayanan today(Mar 12,2006) said both sides were optimistic about reaching a 'decision' on settling the boundary issue.
At least two more rounds of discussions are needed for reaching a concrete decision, he told reporters here after arriving from Delhi along with the Chinese delegation.
Terming the discussions held in the national capital yesterday as 'very good', he said "Both sides are optimistic about reaching a decision."
Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo, who is leading the Chinese high-level delegation, said "We are working together and making progress continuously".
The 18-member team, comprising officials from both countries, arrived here this morning by a special Indian Airlines flight for holding talks at the picturesque Kumarakom lake resort near Kottayam.
