Naxals release abducted policemen in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Six policemen, who were abducted by naxalites from Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, were released by their abductors today (Mar 13 2006), a senior police official said here.

"The two head constables and four constables have been released by the naxalites," State Intelligence Chief Sant Kumar Paswan told sources.

The policemen of Chintagufa Police Station were kidnapped yesterday while they were on way to Dornapal. As a pre-condition to their release, the ultras had demanded withdrawal of anti-naxal operations in Bastar region and a halt to Salwa Judum peace campaign in Dantewada district.
