'BJP will achieve notable gains in the elections' Tuesday, March 14 2006 16:13 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Kochi:
BJP will fight the coming election to Kerala legislative assembly 'unitedly' and would achieve 'noteable gains', P S Sreedharan Pillai, President, State BJP, said today(Mar 14,2006).
Addressing a press conference here, Pillai hoped 'BJP's voice will be there in the legislative assembly this time'.
Apparently referring to the difference of opinions between the state-level leaders of the party on various issues, he said "BJP would unitedly face both the ruling United Democratic
Front (UDF) and opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the election."
"If BJP, which got 12.5 per cent vote in the last elections, could add 3 per cent more, we can make good gains in this election", he said.
Alleging that CPI(M) was resorting to appeasement of minorities, he said the reported statement of a polit buro member that if V S Achuthanandan was projected as the chief ministerial candidate, minority communities will not accept him (VS), was a clear proof of this.
He alleged that UDF and LDF were in hand in glove in scuttling various corruption cases. He demanded a centralagency inquiry into this. BJP will take up the issue to the people in the coming assembly election," he said.
