CM says situation at Ghansoli brought under control

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today (Mar 16 2006) assured the Assembly that the situation at Ghansoli village of Navi Mumbai was brought under control.

The issue of the group clash and police firing on the crowd came up in the House.

Deshmukh said steps are being taken to defuse tension in Ghansoli.

The government would make a statement in the House later today on the incident, the Chief Minister said.
